When Things Go Wrong…

New Years is a time of rebirth, happiness, and a fresh start. No one expects to start the New Year with trouble. But sometimes that’s how things go… The beginning of the New Year I had trouble attack my finances. A merchant that I was working with was taking more money than I was making! With most of my first check gone, a lot of bills got behind.

Whenever things go wrong, I know that its the attack of the enemy and a test of my FAITH. I don’t know why things go in the direction they go. But I do know to continue to believe in God. Why? Because my life and TCB Childcare is His business and most of all God believes in me. Otherwise He would not have given me this gift (provider for children) for nothing. When things go wrong, I know that HE expects me to not to look at self (And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me …Galatians 2:20) and take pride, if any, down a notch into humility (…The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life. Proverbs 22:4).

God also doesn’t want me or you to give up, to lose faith, or confidence of His ability that He has invested in you. Lets take the story of the woman with empty vessels. (This is what came to my spirit when the merchant depleted my account.)

One day the wife of a man from the guild of prophets called out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead. You well know what a good man he was, devoted to God. And now the man to whom he was in debt is on his way to collect by taking my two children as slaves.” (II Kings 4:1).

In laymen’s term I was in the RED and the other bill collectors were still coming to collect their money.

Elisha said, “I wonder how I can be of help. Tell me, what do you have in your house?”

Nothing,” she said. “Well, I do have a little oil.” (II Kings 4:2).

This is me…screaming and crying…Lord, HELP! Then the holy spirit said to me, what do you have- not where but WHAT? My life, my health, and my strength. Most of all I have God.

Here’s what you do,” said Elisha. “Go up and down the street and borrow jugs and bowls from all your neighbors. And not just a few—all you can get. Then come home and lock the door behind you, you and your sons. Pour oil into each container; when each is full, set it aside.” (II Kings 4:3-4)

So I went to my other bank and depleted the funds to cover the other bills that were coming out automatically, believing whatever I took out God would replace.

She did what he said. She locked the door behind her and her sons; as they brought the containers to her, she filled them. When all the jugs and bowls were full, she said to one of her sons, “Another jug, please.”

He said, “That’s it. There are no more jugs.”Then the oil stopped. (II Kings 4: 5-6)

As soon as I took the money out, I got a called from a client, right in the middle of reconciling some of the accounts. The Oil has been running everyday or you can say the money I took from the Business account continues to flow. The money was replaced and went into overflow.

She went and told the story to the man of God. He said, “Go sell the oil and make good on your debts. Live, both you and your sons, on what’s left.” (II Kings 4:7)

I am telling you my story because this is not a random miracle but when trouble comes, I always decided to continue my relationship with the Lord. Just as God poured into the situation, He continues to pour into me. I tell this story because when trouble comes, when the struggle is so real, and the attack feels so personal. The bottom line is that I trust God with my life and the plans He has for me. (11  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11) So, when trouble comes I only see it as an alarm to wake me up and asked myself about my priorities.

In regards to TCB Childcare, this is His business and I have been trusted as a steward. (2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. I Corinthians 4:2), I must be found faithful through the good, the bad, and when things go wrong. Whatever His direction…I will follow.

My News Years Resoultion:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2
